WITHDRAWING TITLES in Voyager – updated 12/12/2005

 

  1. Pull the shelf list card from the shelf list file.

a.       Compare the accession number on the book with the number on the shelf list card to verify that you are pulling the correct card. 

b.      Before pulling the card, please remove the rod from the drawer.  If there are cards above the rod, please do not drop the cards unless you verify that they are filed correctly. 

c.       If a shelf list card is not found, please place a “Post-It-Note” with note (“no shelflist card”) sticking out of the top of the books so it will be visible.

d.      If there is more than one accession number on the shelflist card, place the Pink Slips “Another copy on shelf” in the book; draw a line through the appropriate accession number on the shelflist card, write “wdrn, the date, and your initials” on the shelflist card. Refile the shelflist card in the shelflist file.

 

  1. DeAccession the books in the Accession Book and on the shelflist card.  Use a pencil to write “wdrn, the date, and your initials” on the shelflist card and in the accession Book,” example: wdrn, 12/12/2005, mjm** If there is not a shelf list card, there should already be a Post-It-Note or Pink slip sticking out of the top to the book. Write “wdrn, the date, and your initials” on the existing Post-It-Note or Pink slip.  If there is not a Post-It-Note or Pink slip, go back to step 1.

 

  1. Stamp the book “withdrawn”.  Wherever you see the ACTC/ACC property stamp, stamp the book withdrawn using the large Withdrawn stamp and the red ink pad.  Stamp the fore edges of the book, inside front cover, inside back cover.
