Books as diverse as Huck Finn, Harry Potter, and the Bible have been removed from libraries in the United States and "black listed" by political or religious groups. Theodore Dreiser's now famous novel, Sister Carrie, was banned in Boston in 1900 and left in warehouses unavailable to readers.
