English 102 Calendar: Week Seven
At this time, you should have a good idea of what your final research paper will be about. If you have not had your research topic okayed by me by next week, you should consider dropping the course.
This final research paper topic must have a personal connection to you. What kind of connection?
It should reflect your career interests, your hobbies, your family concerns, anything that shows why you are motivated to research this topic.
You should review the student research papers that I have put online.
You can go to Voices Electric and read the research papers there. This is an important site. Copy this address and make it into a book mark / favorite on your computer:
You should read the papers at this site: Varieties of Research Papers
You will notice that there are different TYPES of research papers. You CANNOT do anything other than the standard research paper (see Bob Cassell's paper) unless you get permission from the instructor.
Here is an absolute deadline to keep in mind: you must have the rough draft of your final research paper done by week thirteen. There is no exception to meeting this deadline. If you do not meet this deadline, your paper will not be accepted. You have to plan now.
