English 102 Calendar: Week Ten

The Literary paper rough draft is due next week. The final draft is due during week fourteen. You must, though, finish the rough draft before you do the research paper. This literary paper will show me if you know the fundamental skills involved in doing the research paper: how and when to use quoted examples, how to handle citations, how to organize your paragraphs, etc.

Take a close look at Leah Bartrum's literary essay to see how a thesis is stated, developed, and then used to unify the paper in the conclusion.

Read Carol Roe's literary paper as an excellent example of how to look at the novel from a historical perspective.

David Pack's literary paper is an excellent example of using another novel to develop a thesis.
