English 101 Assignment Due Date Explanation
The Themes:
All final drafts of themes are due on the dates listed in the online syllabus. If themes are handed in after the due dates, it will affect the grade for the theme.
If the theme is handed in within a week after the due date, the final grade will be reduced by one full grade. For instance, if the student would have gotten a grade of A on a paper that is handed in after the due date, then the grade will be reduced to a B.
If the theme is handed in more than a week after the due date, the final grade will be reduced by two full grades. For instance, if the student would have gotten a grade of A on a paper that is handed more than a week after the due date, then the grade will be reduced to a C.
If the theme is handed in more than two weeks after the due date, the final grade will be an E, a failing grade. For instance, if the student would have gotten a grade of A on a paper that is handed more than a week after the due date, then the grade will be reduced to a E.
The Writing Exercises:
All writing exercise are due on the due dates. Since only the final writing exercise is graded (the final writing exercise becomes Theme Five), there is no grade reduction for handing in the writing exercises after the due dates. But more than one writing exercise can be handed in at a time.
The Library Review:
The library review / works cited assignment must be completed before the end of week eight (mid-term). If the library review is handed in within a week of the due date, the final grade will be reduced by one full grade. If it is handed in more than one week after the due date, then the grade will be reduced two full grades. If the library review is handed in more than two weeks after mid-term, ten the grade will be an E, a failing grade.
