Orality and Literacy

Beginning in the Fall of 2008, an assignment in English 101 classes has been to write an essay on issues raised in examining the differences between cultures and individuals that arise from the two main ways of thought based  upon the spoken and the written word, orality and literacy. The responses are varied, as they should be. All are thoughtful, interesting, insightful.
