In 1993-94 I initiated the Truman Scholarship Committee which sponsored two ACC students in their efforts to receive a Truman Scholarship

In 1993-94 I initiated a student publication, VOICES, essays to be used not only as examples of good student writing but also for instructional purposes in writing classes.To accompany these texts and to encourage other writing faculty to use it as a supplemental text I wrote a teacher's guide. Voices is now an online pubication.

In 1994 I began the literary journal BullHead, a journal of new poetry.

In 1996 appointed to the editorial board of First Intensity, a journal of new writing.
