Pharmacy Application Tips
When
you sign up for the PCAT, make sure your PCAT scores are sent to PharmCAS, code
104…scores do NOT go to UK. If you have already signed up for the PCAT and did
not do this, contact PCAT directly to update your information. If you plan to
take the PCAT on June 19, the deadline to register is May 7. However, I
recommend you register ASAP as seats are limited. June scores are guaranteed
for Early Decision (ED). August scores are not necessarily guaranteed to arrive
before ED, but should arrive prior to ED seats are filled.
What
is Early Decision?? Apply Early Decision IF UK COP is your top choice for
pharmacy school. The early decision program is a binding option for the
applicants who have decided that a particular pharmacy degree program is their
first choice and they will enroll if accepted. As an Early Decision applicant,
you can apply to ONLY one pharmacy degree program. Not all participating
pharmacy programs offer Early Decision status to applicants. (PharmCAS). If not
accepted during Early Decision, your application will then be released to other
schools, and you will be rolled into UK’s regular decision cycle.
Please be reminded that PharmCAS will only forward us scores submitted to them during the current application cycle. If you had scores sent PharmCAS prior to the beginning of this application cycle (before June 2010), you must contact PCAT and request to have your scores forwarded again to PharmCAS AFTER June 1.
The PharmCAS site will open for applications by mid-June. Plan to start your application and submit by early September since UK COP uses rolling admissions! Don’t wait!
