Directions for Submitting Assignments Via Email

A KCTCS email account is required.

Click here to set up the account: KCTCS Email    If assistance is needed, see me or visit the the Learning Assistance Center in room G108.

MS Word is required.

Forms must be completed using MS Word 97 or more recent version.  All computers at ACC have the software.  Do not alter forms.

Failure to use MS Word or altering of a form will result in a loss of most or all points for that assignment.

Use the correct file name.

The completed form must be saved with the correct file name.   File names will follow this convention:  160assignmentnumberyourlastname   with no spaces, initials or other symbols.   For example:  160A1Smith  would be the correct file name for the first assignment, 160A2Smith for the second assignment and so on.  Case doesn't matter.  See the particular assignment for the precise name required for that assignment.

Using an incorrect file name will result in a loss of up to 1/2 the possible points for that assignment.

Enter the file name in the subject line.

In the subject line of the email enter the file name used to save the assignment.  For example:  160A1Smith

Submit one assignment per email.

Multiple assignments submitted on one email or failing to put the correct subject line on the email will result in a loss of up to 1/2 the possible points for those assignments.

Submit assignments early.

Assignments are due in my email box no later than due date and time listed for that particular assignment.  Don't wait until the last minute to complete and submit assignments.  Late work is not accepted (0 points).  Only one minute late is still late.   Stuff happens!   Computers crash and networks go down.  That's part of life in the modern world.

Check your email.

For assignments submitted one or more days before the due date, I will reply with suggested corrections if any major corrections are needed.

You are welcome to correct and resubmit assignments as often as needed up to the due date and time.

If the assignment contains no major errors I will reply with "Looks good"

Do not delete the email  in your SENT ITEMS folder.

In case the 'virtual dogs' of the Internet eat an assignment, the Sent Items folder is the only proof that the assignment was completed properly and submitted on time.

NOTE:  Assignments are not group activities.  You are expected to complete and submit your own work from your KCTCS email account.  Assignments that are submitted and that are not the work of a single individual will receive a grade of '0' and may be referred for disciplinary action under the KCTCS Code of Student Conduct, Article II
